چکیده

Abstract Purpose The aim of this study is to quantify the potential benefits a flattening filter‐free (FFF) beam and implement dose‐computation algorithm for cervical radiotherapy through dosimetric radiobiological analyses using RapidArc. Methods Thirty‐three patients were enrolled, four RapidArc plans created each patient dual‐arc filter 6‐MV FFF photon beams two calculation algorithms. Homogeneity index (HI), conformity (CI), target coverage, monitor units (MUs), organ‐at‐risk (OAR) characteristics compared between plans. Radiobiological normal tissue complication probability (NTCP) scores computed OAR different biological models. Results No significant differences observed in D max, 98% , CI planning volume (PTV). Both computations estimated difference V 95% 2% HI PTV. Furthermore, showed increase MUs reduction 30% femoral heads. NTCP score late effects on bladder, rectum, bowel with beams. Conclusion current recommends better conformity, comparable dose coverage target, sparing invariable computation algorithm. was minimal beam.

Dosimetric Comparison of Various Radiotherapeutic Treatment Plans Using Cobalt-60 and Linac for Prostate Cancer

Introduction: This study was designed to evaluate dosimetric parameters such as rectal dose, bladder dose, integral dose (ID), homogeneity index (HI) and conformity index (CI) in various treatment plans for prostate cancer. Materials and Methods: Pelvic computed tomography (CT) scans of 27 patients were acquired and transferred to the RTDosePLAN treatment planning system. For each patient, 8 co...

Dosimetric and radiobiological impact of intensity modulated proton therapy and RapidArc planning for high‐risk prostate cancer with seminal vesicles

INTRODUCTION The purpose of this study was to evaluate the dosimetric and radiobiological impact of intensity modulated proton therapy (IMPT) and RapidArc planning for high-risk prostate cancer with seminal vesicles. METHODS Ten high-risk prostate cancer cases were included in this retrospective study. For each case, IMPT plans were generated using multiple field optimisation (MFO) technique ...

Dosimetric and Radiobiological Evaluation of Multiparametric MRI-guided Dose Painting in radiotherapy of Prostate Cancer

Introduction: Radiotherapy is one of the treatment options for locally advanced prostate cancer, however with standard radiation doses it is not always very effective. One of the strategies to improve the efficiency of radiotherapy is increasing the dose. In this study to increase tumor local control rates a new radiotherapy method, known as dose painting (DP) was investigated....

Analysis of Hip Joint Dose in Prostate Cancer Radiation Therapy: A Dosimetric Comparison of Treatment Plans

Background and purpose: Radiation therapy as a part of cancer treatment is used in almost 50-60% of involved cases. In prostate cancer radiation therapy, a large volume of pelvis is irradiated, so, it is necessary to preserve sensitive organs around the treatment area, especially rectum and bladder. In this study, some dosimetric parameters such as minimum dose (Dmin), maximum dose (Dmax), mean...
